Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, I have always been connected to nature. I fell in love with exploring the mountains, hiking to secluded lakes, waterfalls and walking in a mossy forest full of magic. One of the best ways to disconnect from technology and everyday stresses is to spend a few days on a trail. It allows us to connect with ourselves on another level, and fully enjoy the company of those who join us. Backpacking is an amazing experience and I have gathered some advice for those who want to enjoy the trail on a plant-based diet. Luckily there are different brands that offer a variety of delicious plant-based dehydrated meals that are easy and lightweight. The key to really enjoying your time backpacking is to make sure you pack light and smart. 

Embarking on a backpacking adventure through the wilderness is a thrilling and transformative experience. It’s a chance to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and connect with nature in its purest form. For those who follow a plant-based lifestyle, ensuring that your outdoor excursion aligns with your ethical choices can be a bit challenging. The first time I tried dehydrated meals I was a bit skeptical. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried them for the first time while backpacking Crater Lake in Oregon. I simply boiled water, added it to the package and waited for my meal to be ready. It took around 10 to 15 minutes to be ready, depending on the meal.
